#N:uokvax:2400053:000:1729 uokvax!lmaher Jul 11 19:53:00 1984 The race has really tightened up in the last few days as votes trickle in. Stone and Edwards are tied for second, ONE VOTE behind Day. Voting will end on July 18th, or One week after the next to last vote arrives, whichever comes last. To recap, I'm letting the net decide who wins the 1982 New York Governor's race in my Champions campaign. Your Choices are: "A New Day for New York" Linda Day, Democrat "Democracy. One Man. One Vote." Robert "Bobby" Stone, Republican "Vote for the Lone Wolf." Adam Edwards, Independent Information on their positions on issues was posted June 16. To answer some other questions: THE WOLF A number of people have voted for Edwards because of his wolf. For those who were interested, Vulcan is a full-grown (110 pounds) male, silvery-gray, timber wolf. Edwards found the orphaned pup in Alaska in 1975. His parents and siblings had been killed in a helicopter & assault rifle style wolf hunt. LIEUTENANT GOVERNORS Considering the number of supervillians with heated opinions on the race, it was suggested I should list LGs as well. Then again, who ever pays attention to the LG? RUNOFFS This is going to be a very close race; the vote is currently split 35% to 32% to 32%, so it's unlikely anyone will get a majority. I hate to ask everyone to vote again in a runoff, and I did say whoever won this race would become Governor. Flames on this topic cheerfully accepted. Maybe I should combine a run-off with a vote on whether to have a run-off. :-) Carl ..!allegra!{nbires convex ut-ngp}\ ..!decvax!cornell >!ctvax!uokvax!lmaher ..!ihnp4!{ut-sally convex ut-ngp}/
