All right, who used a Wand of Wonder on this line? I'm a relatively inexperienced DM, and my "party" and I have a disagreement of sorts on how to run clerical turning. Namely, when consulting the "Clerics vs. Undead" table during encounters, how is the "T" (automatic turning) played? Does it mean simply that the player skips the d20 roll to see if undead are affected, and just rolls d12 to see the number that are turned? Or does automatic turning mean that ALL undead in the area (regardless of the number) are turned? Also, do the affected undead (assuming they do not become "friendly" to the cleric) simply flee as soon as they "sense" (see, hear, etc.) the cleric, or must the player do something? You know, like raise their arms and shout "Yo! I'm a cleric! Get your buns out of here and leave my party alone!" or something to that effect. Thanks, Scott J. Berry AT&T--Bell Labs ...!houxz!disc
