The Advocate wishes to apologize for a typographical error which occurred
in the previous edition. The Dragon Emperor did not repeal the Second Dragon
Edict as stated, rather, he repealed the Third Dragon Edict. We are sorry
for any inconvenience this may have caused.
MORE ON PSIONIC PROBLEMS
------------------------
Since the Emperor has annulled his edicct preventing discrimination
against psionics, there have been many reported instances of psionics
being harassed in most major cities across the Empire. In several
cases, mobs of citizens have lynched psionics, most often by burning.
There are also many reported cases of looting and destruction of
psionic-owned establishments.
The Advocate calls on the Emperor to restore order to the Empire.
This wave of civil disturbances cannot be tolerated. It is causing
many businesses across the empire to shut down, for fear of looting
and suburban adventurism. If these disturbances continue, the economy
of the Empire could be harmed.
The superstitious persecution of psionics is also to be condemned.
There is no reason for people to persecute psionics, rather than, say, magicians
or priests. Fortunately, the people of Athron have been peaceful throughout
this difficult time. There have only been two reported instances of
harassment of psionics in Athron, and these were not severe cases.
DRAGON EMPEROR REPEALS FIRST DRAGON EDICT

This morning, as the Advocate was going to the presses, the Dragon
Emperor, if he can still be called such, repealed the First Dragon Edict,
which had effectively prohibited large-scale warfare and adventurism.
He gave no reason for this announcement.
Without the fear of Dragon Empire retribution, militarists and
adventurists are now free to strike out and attempt to conquer
large areas of land. As none of the various cities in the Empire have
any strong local governments, they are all susceptible to takeover by
local strongmen.
The Advocate is gravely concerned with this development. The
annullment of this edict effectively spells an end to the Dragon
Empire as we know it.
The Regeant of Athron assures the Advocate that she will remain in
control of things here until such a time as someone is found suitable
for the post of Duke.
THE HOUSE OF KILGRADE ENTERS ATHRON

The House of Kilgrade has begun setting up operations in the Athron
area. Several large tracts of land have been purchased by representitives
of the House, and construction of facilities on these sites is proceeding
at an astounding rate.
Three sites were purchased. The first site, located near the center
of town, is having a large stone building constructed upon it. The
exterior of the building was constructed by local craftsmen, but the interior
is being finished by House retainers. This is to be the site of the
Bank of Kilgrade, according to house representitives. The Advocate
received a statement from the Housde today, describing the purpose of
the Bank:
The Bank of Kilgrade will provide the finest in financial services
to its clients. We will change money, buy and sell standard-priced
jewels, store clients' money in the safety of our vaults while
providing a reasonable return on their investment, issue letters of credit
and drafts on Bank deposits, and honour script drawn on the House of
Kilgrade. In addition, we plan to provide a full array of investment
counselling services.
The second site is on the outskirts of town, and is somewhat larger than
the site of the Bank. On this site a large circular 240' tower arrived
overnight, and House representitives have declined to explain how it got
there. Walls are going up around the perimeter of the site, and several
buildings are being constructed inside. All work is being done by House
retainers.
The purpose of the third building site is unknown, although it is adjacent
to the second. House retainers have refused to provide any information on
this subject.
The Advocate has examined the records of nobility from the old World
Empire, as well as the records from the old Cathic-Thrasian Empire and
the Dragon Empire. None of these records mentions the existance of the
House of Kilgrade.
The Baron himself was interviewed on this subject. He revealed that
he and his family are actually from another plane, which was destroyed in
an epic battle between Good and Good. The Baron claims to have played
a key role in this struggle which was between conservative and revisionist
elements of the Church of the Ki-Rin. He declined to answer any questions
about his plans for the future, or his possible role in local politics.
The Advocate feels that a strong, civilized man such as the Baron
might be able to provide Athron with the sort of leadership that it requires.
Unfortunately, it does not seem as if the Baron is willing to assume such
a role at this time.
