*** UltraChaos Rules *** Sorry Paladins, if my message is a bit unnerving... What is the matter with all of you people jumping up and down pulling out your hair, excommunicating people, drawing swords, holy symbols, etc., etc, etc. One guy meantions - take it easy now - (christianity) and poof: # # # # # # ###### # # # # # #### ## # # # # # # # # # ## ## #### # # # # # #### ##### ###### # # ## # #### # # # # # # # # # # # # # ## # ## # # # # # # # # # # ## # # #### # # ###### # # # # # #### #### Let's get off it, huh? Regarding Paladins: I would like to propose the following amendment. A paladin is a fighter dedicated to his deity. Therefore if his deity is Dionysus he could be CG,CN or CE and still be a paladin. I recently bought the new Dungeons and Dragons (not advanced) supplementary rules or whatever. I suggest that DM's get their hands on this immediately to inject great fantasy and reality into your game. Regarding this issue it says that a NAME LEVEL fighter may become a paladin if lawful, a knight if neutral and an avenger if chaotic. It further states the priviledges: spell casting at 1/3 the level, automatic entrance to churches/keeps of the same align, etc. Regarding "Permanent Genocide": this is a drastic and upsetting answer. Unfortunately it IS sometimes neccesary. In my own case I had a F/Th of reasonable level and I attempted to pickpocket a pc's pocket- do not allow this in your game - I failed and the party chose sides. I left and disguised myself and returned (as a new fighter pc). Now everyone was out for me, and despite the fact that the characters would not react to the new character in the same fashion the players got personally involved. This is grossly bad playing and led to fights and enmity which has not yet stopped. As a rule, allow a character one more chance: use a geas or quest or whatever. Even if this does not work do not interfere your personal feelings on your character's intellect. In other words, don't have your character picking on every new character the person draws up. There is no need to flame the Genocide comments I have placed before you as I recognize them as personal opinion- perhaps where this area is concerned this is the reason that emotions erupt.
