Now that the subject has come up,I'd like to strongly endorse the entire genre.The two games I've played have been tremendous fun. Gangbusters) Unlike the rest of TSR's homicidal line,this one actually requires a great deal of thought.Most of the modules are murder myst- eries, and to illustate, in the module we just completed, I played a private eye,who stayed pretty much in the background.My two co-players (whom I have yet to meet!) played cops who fought a string of gun fights until they were finally hospitalized,leaving me to solve the crime.To top it off,I went through the module without firing a shot or throwing a punch.(You get experience for the ends rather than the means).Although its murder-mystery concept requires a good GM and better players,its ideal for those more interested in Hercule Poirot than Frodo Baggins. Call of the Ctuluhu) As per above,except that it has a more realistic feel than GB. The game includes various time lines, including one based on actual alleged super-natural occurances. The most interesting assumtion is that if Joe Adventured sees a monster in his ordinary,well-defined world, his first reaction won't be to beat it silly, but to run for dear life. Also interesting is the idea that the more you know about meta-physics, the harder it will be for your little mind to stay together. Similar to GB,except that its mysteries are super-natural,rather than criminal. Rebuttals?Disputes?Flames?Conversation about something other than swords and sorcery?
