Obviously, when discussing FRPs, the subject must certainly come around to D&D (or AD&D). Certainly, it is one of the oldest of its kind. In fact, I am not suprized to see that much discusion centered around TSR's foundation pertains largely to the inherent problems of the system (or perhaps it would be more discrete to refer to these discussions as "kludge encounters" :-)...). Please ... if you are an avid D&D fan, don't take me the wrong way. I have been playing FRPs for over nine years now and much of that time was spent pouring through TSR literature (... and yes, actually playing D&D). For six of those years, I developed, maintained and gradually expanded my own "world". For all of its "problems", I would be amiss if I neglected to consider that D&D has thrust the environment of FRPs into overdrive - so to speak. I have digressed from my original purpose (as is so often my ramblin' manner). Shelving D&D for the moment, I wonder, "What about all those other FRP systems .... I did notice a mention recently about the Role Master series." Being new to net.games.frp, it is quite likely that I have missed a great deal of discussion pertaining to other systems such as Runequest or Champions. If so ... YEAH !!!!! Let's here MORE !!! If not ... WHY ??? Joel M. Rives aka: Arch Druid Whisper Spirit Attention: any person/creature/being interested in Play By Electronic Mail FRP send a note to: { me } gatech!gitpyr!cc100jr
