[take this!] Hi Martin, I hardly considered anyone to play D&D to be 'narrow-minded', I also don't consider myself to be 'narrow-minded' although I am an atheist. I was a methodist before I was realized that for me there was no God. I have a hard time understanding how you call me 'narrow- minded' you admit that I am more open than you. I understand where you are coming from but why do feel you must change the way I live? I not trying to change you into an atheist, why try and change me into a fundamentalist? It gets back to what I had mentioned in an earlier message that you feel it's OK if you belittle my beliefs but if I belittle yours you get huffy and call me 'narrow-minded'. Get Off your soap box and LISTEN a little. If you have trouble playing the game with people who are more 'open-minded' than you are, QUIT and play with a group more suited to your thinking. I have played with many groups before and some of which I quit because I didn't enjoy it. That's the key to D&D, it's enjoyable. Why kill our enjoyment because you aren't enjoying yourself. BTW is this the way you enjoy yourself, by trying to convince yourself and others that your way is the "right" way. One of the reasons I didn't like religions in general is that most feel that THEIR WAY is the ONLY WAY. What's your real problem with D&D? Is it that you can't succeed in the game like others do or do you have trouble coping with the game? Succeeding with D&D is enjoying the game. Don't try to compete with others in character building, the only ones who enjoy that are in the munchkin character class. And if you can't cope with the game you probably ought to quit and write your own role playing game dealing with saving people's souls and self gratification. -)------ Charlie ------(- Let's argue over my soul ;-) ARPA: speegle@ut-ngp.UTEXAS.EDU UUCP: {allegra,ihnp4,seismo,ctvax}!ut-sally!ut-ngp!speegle
