| newsgroup to communicate with the small number of people in a particular
| game.  Not only is it far more expensive than email, it's slower and less
| reliable.  Use the newsgroup to look for players, but once you have the
| game organized, use email to distribute each turn's results.  No reason why

How about a program which maintains email-driven FRP games?  It might do so
via emailed game scripts (which are interactively modified by the game?) or,
more easily perhaps, simply act as a mail front-end to allow one to say:

	% netfrp
	Which game (RETURN for list)? net-adventure
	Last moves:
	Bungo (mark@mrstve.UUCP): strike the dwarf with his long sword.
	[DM: The dwarf swings his axe and misses.]
	
	Enter your move, end with ^D:
	throw my spear at the dwarf
	^D
	[Your move has been mailed to the net-adventure DM.]
