Although this isn't strictly role-playing, I think the frp'ers on the
net might be interested. Please note I am also cross-posting to
net.games.pbm.
I am attempting to start a Starfire Play-By-Mail (or MH or... :-) Campaign
for next term (Game starting April 15th.). For those unfamiliar
with the game, Starfire is put out by Task Force Games (makers of Star Fleet
Battles, among other things) and is a sub-light empire building system.
Yes, sub-light -- the ships travel from star to star through "warp points"
which were left as artifacts by an apparently now extinct race. I hope
to use the inherent time lag of the net to add some realism to the game.
Interested parties should contact me at the below address. Note: you should
get hold of a set of rules and study them before deciding to enter the game.
Players will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis. With your
response, please include how familiar you are with the game, if you wish
to be part of a team, and if you would like to go on the waiting list for new
players. About Team Play: players may form teams, with different players
controlling different portions of a main fleet -- thus allowing "admirals"
who make their decisions in the field with little or no aid/advice from
their home planets.
I will start responding to messages about Apr. 3 -- Spring Break is happening
between now and then -- but send in your requests, so that I can get
right on this.
