Geac Computers International of Markham, is seeking  a  data
communications  analyst  to  join a project team responsible
for the design and implementation of  a  new  generation  of
distributed information systems.
     The  candidate  should  have  an  M.Sc.  in  Electrical
Engineering  or  Computer  Science, or some equivalent back-
ground.
     Experience in advanced networking architectures and the
development  of data communication products, from specifica-
tions phase through to implementation, is highly desirable.
     Knowledge of the following is required:
     - the ISO/OSI basic reference model and protocols,
     - the IEEE 802 standard LANs
     - the X.25 protocol.
     Hands on experience with LANs is highly desirable.
     Knowledge of the following is an asset:
     - UNIX/"C"
     - gateways
     - network applications (e-mail, directory systems)
     - network management and performance.
