Home address: | email address: Ms. DEVI CAUSSY | ...!seismo!mnetor!lsuc!maccs!devi 315-1001 Main St. West | Hamilton, Ontario L8S 1A9 Dear Sir/Madam: I am presently seeking an entry level position which will allow me to further develop the expertise acquired through my graduate program in Computer Science studies. In the long range, I hope to gain a thorough enough understanding of the operations of your firm to parti- cipate in policy making and public affairs. Please find enclosed an nroff (-me) form of my resume. May I add that from my studies in the Computation program, I have gained detailed theoretical knowledge and understanding in all aspects of computer environment. In the thesis I am currently working on, I investigated several software packages and hardware devices for spatial data handling and Geographic Information Systems for the Geogra- phy Department at McMaster University. Beside my graduate degree programs, my jobs as research assis- tant allowed me to make intensive use of computers. while I was work- ing on several different projects, I had to code and statistically analyse data using SPSS (Stastistical Packages for Social Sciences). Through all my courses and my previous academic endeavours, I improved my abilities in problem defining and problem solving tech- niques. I also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French, which is my native language. In my varied work experiences, I was provided with the opportunity to meet and interact with a great number of people. I have developed a sense of community and the ability to address and communicate with people; I have learned that careful listening, empathy and co-operation are essential in developing relationships with others. I am accustomed to working under pressure and little supervi- sion. I always set goals and do my very best to meet them. In this way, I have always been able to meet my deadlines and I find this quite rewarding. I have been highly commended by my supervisors. My adaptability and flexibility are shown by my work experi- ences, my successful transition from Geography to Computer Science at a Master's level and through working and living in several countries. Being hardworking and conscientious, I feel that I have a lot to offer to people with whom I would be working. I am self-motivated and reli- able and can learn a new programming language or a new system very quickly. I'll be available for employment in July 1987. Thank you for taking time to read my letter and resume. If you need any further information, I would be pleased to supply them to you. I would like an opportunity to talk to you in person at your con- venience to elaborate upon my qualifications. Hoping to hear from you, yours faithfully, (Ms. Devi Caussy) (...!seismo!mnetor!lsuc!maccs!devi) Encl. ----------------------------------- cut here ----------------------------- .po 8 .pl 66 .ll 80 .ti 33 DEVIANEE CAUSSY .nf 315-1001 MAIN ST.
