*** SYSTEM/NETWORK PROGRAMMER/ADMINISTRATOR *** The Job ======= Digital Media Networks has a unique opportunity in Toronto for a UNIX systems expert looking to take charge of a growing multi- server/workstation environment. We run a network of * 2 SUN 3/50's with 10 users running UNIX * 8 IBM PC's with 9 users running QNX * a MAC and a MAC-II all interconnected across a dual-Bridge Ethernet network. Aside from the usual duties of hardware/software installation, support, and customization, system performance monitoring/planning, backup provisions, etc., the successful candidate will be responsible for internal staff education and custom software development. The Talent ========== * a minimum of a BSc in computer science (or equivalent); * at least two years of UNIX system administration experience, preferably in a SUN environment; * good people skills, to teach non-technical users what they need to know of UNIX to get their jobs done; * excellent deductive abilities, to keep the system humming Salary will vary with the degree of above qualifications exhibited.
