1. The Company
INNOVUS is a small but growing software company located in
Hamilton, Ontario. INNOVUS maintains an on-going
relationship with McMaster University, and provides benefits
associated with employment there including medical, drug,
dental, eye care packages and access to courses in addition
to a competitive salary.
INNOVUS is in the process of installing several additional
Unix based super-micro and mini computers in a network
environment, and is currently searching for people with
experience in the Unix programming environment.
2. The Position
INNOVUS has an immediate requirement for a person with
experience in the Unix programming environment to assist in
the integration of various technical and scientific
applications to the HP series 9000 workstations including
the new RISC architecture series 8XX as well as the 680X0
machine.
This position will be of a technical nature, and the
candidate will be involved in system dependent aspects of
porting and integrating major software packages in a
heterogeneous application environment.
The candidate will report to the Manager of Technical
Services, and work in both team projects and individually.
3. The Prerequisites
The ideal candidate will have a degree in computer science
or equivalent work experience, strong leadership skills,
effective verbal and written communication skills, and a
pleasant personality. A high level of proficiency in one or
more of Lisp, FORTRAN, C, or Pascal is expected, as well as
two to three years of experience with Unix (SYS V or Bsd) or
equivalent. Experience with x-windows, tcp/ip, streams and
Unix IPC would be an asset. Experience with the MPE
programming environment and/or SPL would be an asset.
