Geac Canada Ltd. is looking for a Software Instructor,
reporting the the Technical Training Supervisor, Markham,
Ontario. The successful applicant will train employees and
customers in the use of Geac's operating systems, utilities, and
programming languages.
Geac is a Canadian manufacturer of medium to large scale
computers and software for the transaction processing market
place. Most of our customers are banks, credit unions or
libraries. Geac has major customers throughout Canada and the
United States, Australia, Britain, and in several European
countries.
The Software Instructor will be responsible primarily for
performing needs analysis, curriculum design, and conducting
courses and seminars on a variety of topics. Emphasis will be
on Geac's proprietary language, ABL. As well, the Instructor
will become increasingly responsible for courses on Geac's
proprietary operating systems, as well as UNIX System V. (tm),
and PICK (tm), and on programming in Geac ZOPL, C and PICK
BASIC.
Desired qualifications include:
A degree or college diploma in computing, management
information, library science, business, or a related field, or
the equivalent in education and experience. Experience in
banking or library automation would also be an advantage.
Experience in adult education, or willingness to attend adult
education workshops,
Demonstrated ability to work independently, along with proven
organizational ability and communications skills,
Programming experience in one or more languages. A sound
knowledge of C would an asset.
