This is an addendum to my earlier posting regarding Geac's opening for a Software Instructor in Markham, Ont. I said: > Geac Canada Ltd. is looking for a Software Instructor, > reporting the the Technical Training Supervisor, Markham, > Ontario. The successful applicant will train employees and > customers in the use of Geac's operating systems, utilities, and > programming languages. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Claimer: That IS the opinion of Geac Canada Limited. What's below is mine. If you'd like a copy of the original posting, lemme know. ------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm looking for someone who knows C, thinks they might like teaching, (must be willing to attend adult ed workshops), and can learn and teach Geac's native languages, ZOPL (which is much like C anyway), and ABL, which is Geac's proprietary banking systems language. Your first assignment would be to learn & teach ABL. Eventually, you'd end up teaching C and UNIX [tm], and lots more. We troff our own manuals, run courses and seminars for people from all over the world, and sometimes, go all over the world ourselves. As Grandma used to say, you may get to go "all around Robin Hood's barn." (I have no idea why she used to say that). Geac is Canada's only Canadian-owned company making multi-processor mainframes specifically designed for high speed transaction processing. This year, we were one of 15 companies given the Canada Export Award. Our customers tend to be reputable outfits like MIT, the Smithsonian Institution, the Australian CSIRO, and lots more. I want to have somebody on board by January, 1989. If you know of anyone who might like this job, please get them to ring me. Thanks! {uunet!utzoo, yunexus,}!geac!cbs (Chris Syed) (416) 475-7733 ex. 206
