Position: Computer Analyst
Department: Joint Program in Transportation at the University of Toronto
Salary Range: 27,136 - 31,925 - 36,714
Source of Funding: Grant ending August, 1990 with possibility of renewal.
Position summary:
Under the general direction of the Director, Data Management Group, the
incumbent will be required to support the efforts of four engineers and planners
in their efforts to create an easily accessible data base of urban travel. The
programmer will be required to assist in the establishment of a data base
structure and prepare software routines for data aggregation, and develop
appropriate code to support an attempt to link computer graphics (AutoCAD) with
data access routines. In addition, the system will be configured to operate a
software system for transportation planning with high speed modem access by
local planning agencies. The incumbent will also provide systems support for
an HP9000/825 operating under HP-UX.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: University degree or equivalent combination of education
and experience, including system management.
Experience: Several years' experience in UNIX environment. C language
with some knowledge of database management systems.
Skills: Complete knowledge of UNIX operating system.
Other: Proven ability to communicate effectively; reliable with
self motivation.
