		Scientific Visualization Consultant
			    at the
	    Ontario Centre for Large Scale Computation.

Reporting to the Technical Support Manager the incumbent will support
the scientific visualization resources at the Centre and provide the
expertise necessary to exploit these resources fully.  Duties include
support of graphics software on the workstations and Cray; running and
maintaining the graphics hardware; assisting users in the design and
programming of various scientific visualization projects.

The incumbent must have excellent problem solving abilities, a good
display and presentation design sense, a familiarity with a wide range
of scientific disciplines and must enjoy working with people. The
incumbent's technical knowledge must include an understanding of
photography and familiarity with video recording equipment and
standards. Advanced understanding of computer graphics and
user-interfaces is essential. Knowledge of Silicon Graphics IRIS
graphics subroutine libraries an asset.

Education:
Advanced University degree with a computer science, math and science
background.

Experience:
Expert with C, Unix, graphics programming and user-interface
programming and design; working knowledge of Fortran and VMS;
experience with video or film production desirable; a background in
Visual-Arts or design also desirable.
