Two jobs now being filled at Sheridan College, Brampton Ontario.
These are lab technologist jobs. The lab technologists provide
specialized technical and related services in the Computing Skills
Centre. They demonstrate software to student and staff users, help
in analyzing, procuring and installing new equipment, ensure lab
equipment is maintained and functional, and distribute learning
resources.
Job Title: Technologist B
Appointment: 10 months for first job, 35 hours per week
12 months for second job, 35 hours per week
Date of Appointment: Immediate
Expected Background: Technical or Community College diploma
or University degree with strong emphasis
in computer science. Up to five years of
practical experience with a range of computer
languages (PL/I, Pascal, COBOL, Fortran, C,
BASIC, Assembler, etc.), operating systems (MS-DOS,
VAX/VMS, UNIX, etc.) and application packages
(Multimate, WordPerfect, Lotus, Dbase III, etc.)
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
are essential.
For the 12 month position we are especially looking
for someone who can help us manage our UNIX and
VAX/VMS systems.
