INSTITUTE FOR SPACE AND TERRESTRIAL SCIENCE We have an immediate opening for a Technologist to work in the Earth Observation Laboratory of the Institute for Space and Terrestrial Science. Technologist Key Responsibilities: Maintenance of several personal computers, plotters, modem; installation and maintenance of satellite data processing software (commercial and custom designed); installation of software; assistance in writing software, building and testing electronic circuits, and preparations of the instruments for field campaigns; assistance with the hardware and software during the ice/snow field work. Special Requirements: Could be required to work on weekends. Should be able to participate in field campaigns. These could be to remote sites. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree or a three-year diploma course in a technical field and three or more years of experience as a technologist or its equivalence; ability to work independently with minimum supervision; ability to work in a research group environment; working knowledge of programming languages: C and Fortran; familiarity with different operating systems (DOS, UNIX) and data transfer protocols. Salary: Approximately $25,000 per annum or more depending on qualifications. We have an excellent benefits package.
