Unicus Corporation is looking for a self-directed individual to act as a
Macintosh Guru. This individual will have had significant experience
with the Toolbox, especially with all those little details only vaguely
mentioned in Inside Macintosh, or knowable only via direct experience or
divine guidance. This person will be a major resource person for the
user interface implementation group, and should be well versed in ui
design and implementation issues. A strong personality, with solid
leadership abilities would be very welcome. Experience in object
oriented languages like C++, MPW C or MPW Pascal and object oriented
design methodologies is prefered. A user's level familiarity with Unix
and its development tools is an asset.

Unicus is a small software development company currently specializing in
applied compiler technology and telecommunications. As a result, there
is quite a bit of flexability in the job defintion and its
responsabilities. We offer the successful applicant a relaxed,
close-knit enviroment with flexible hours and a varying workload, under
minimal supervision. Salary is negotiable based on experience. A
permanent employee is prefered, but a short term contract is possible.

Metaview, a software engineering start-up located in Toronto,
is building shrink-wrapped products for the imaged document management
market.

We are looking for experienced software engineers who want to contribute
to all aspects of a project, from inception to completion.

You will design and implement image database systems that include graphic
user interface, image and compound document manipulation, and system
and peripheral programming.  Our system will be written in object-oriented
C with OS/2 as our first target: later targets will be NeXT and other
UNIX machines.

Position Description:

We have a locum position available for a Supervisor - Computer Activities. 
The primary role of this postion is to co-ordinate patient care related 
microcomputer activities in the Rehabilitation Department, to assist patients
in accessing any of the departmental microcomputers and to act as a resource
person on micro-computer technology for Rehabilitation Staff.

General Duties and Responsibilities of the position:

Supervise day to day operations of four microcomputers within the Rehabilitation
Services (3 Apples and 1 Commodore).

Work with individual patients in accessing microcomputer.

Co-ordinate patient's microcomputer schedule.

Be responsible for the general maintenance of equipment and supplies in the 
computer areas.

Evaluate incoming software in conjuction with therapists.

Educate the staff and patients about microcomputer technology and their 
applications.

Make liason with Director of Microcomputer Information Service.

Qualifactions:

Must have good general knowledge of and previous experience with microcomputers,
specifically Apple and Commodore.  Previous experience working with the
physically disabled would be an asset. Should possess good organizational 
skills.

Should possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
