The Computer Education Facility of the Law Society of Upper Canada is looking for a person with strong micro skills and some Unix background. This person will assist the Systems Facilitator during the temporary relocation of the Department of Education during renovations. The position was set up to suit a student. The position is temporary, basically from January/February to September. It can be part-time, 15-20 hours a week, flexible, until March or April. At that time it becomes full-time. The work, depending on the applicant's experience, will vary from maintaining a Novell network with 25 mixed IBM PC and Macintosh workstations, developing and maintaining scripts and batch files for the applications on the network, installing, configuring and testing new software, Unix program maintenance and development, to various and sundry other tasks. The work will also require some lifting and moving of computers and components. Reports to the Director of the Computer Education Facility. Responsibilites In this section, computer systems means the computer systems used in the Department of Education, whatever number or size may exist from time to time. 1. In the previous posting, I stated that the position would be full-time starting March or April. It has been brought to my attention that students have exams into May.
