Here is something I've heard about helmets and hearing ability. CORRECT fitting helmets actually allow you to hear better. Why? Because the air flow around your head is moved away from your ears and permits you to hear other sounds instead of getting used to (and ignoring) the sound of air moving past your ears. This also works with a windshield or fairing, depending on size and configuration. I've made a few tests with my GS1000G, helmet on/off and Windjammer on/off and was amazed at the difference. With helmet and Windjammer on I could hear birds chirping while riding! Just saw the specs for Honda's new 1100 V4, who needs 130bhp on two wheels for public roads I'll never know!
