I am the proud owner of a 1979 Suzuki 850. Since that was the first year of the EPA crunch, the carbs are running quite lean to make emissions requirements. Has anyone had experience rejetting this bike? It has the usual lean running symptoms of hard starting, slow warmup, surging, and running hot. Any info would be helpful. This bike also has a sticker under the seat that recommends using the highest octane UNleaded available. I was told it was to keep the plugs clean. I have been reading net.auto lately about some sort of performance cars. The real performance is just down the street at your local motorcycle shop. Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki all offer 1100 cc machines that will run around 11.00 seconds at 120+ mph in the quarter mile. This might not impress some folks, but this is truly retina detaching performance, all for the low price of 4-5 k bucks. Would any of the folks in net.auto like to tell us what you have to do to a car to see 11 flat at 120 in the quarter?? (Drop it off a cliff!!) My vote for the meanest machine this year goes to the new Suzuki 1100. Midrange punch to flatten your face. Any other opinions on your favorite machines? Posting results anyone's gaga about it, Dave Hayes Tektronix!Tekid!david
