As a recommendation to all those who are looking for the two-wheeled excuse
to take out your frustrations on I would recommend anything with a shaft and
liquid cooling. 100mph+ backroading, as well as 1/4mi drags + burnouts are
extremely hard on parts. These days the liquid cooled units with the shafts
are less prone to breakdown, plus they are much easier to maintain (not to
mention quiter to ride). Shaft drive can get pretty hairy in the corners, and
is a typical dog "out of the hole"(off the line), but nevertheless you don't
have to tighten/replace it.
I had lived approximately 29mi from the middle of nowhere up in Wis.,
enjoyed terrorizing several backroads with 1 liter freinds. I prefer not to
ride in the dark, although it is almost unavoidable.
