Boo, hiss!!! Harley has been crying for a long time that the
Japanese have been killing them with their "low" prices and claiming
"dumping" etc. I wonder who they bought off to get this passed?
Our local motorcycle carries Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda and Harley
(Beaverton Honda, Beaverton, Oregon). They move many more Japanese
bikes than Harleys, and not because of price alone. These machines
are (in my opinion) designed better, built better, priced better and
hold up better. When I purchased my last bike, I had a list to go by:
1- Appearance 2- Handling 3- Price 4- Maintenace record 5- Warantee
In going to our local dealer, I looked at ALL the bikes. Harley
was the first to be disqualified on ALL those points. After I finally
run this bike into the ground (which may be many years) or just want
something bigger and better, I STILL WILL NOT BUY A PIECE OF CRAP HARLEY!!!
That means I will have to pay more to get a good Japanese bike (I also
ruled out most - not all- European bikes because of the high cost of
parts and maintenance).
The dumb thing about all of Harley's crying is that they get the
majority of their components from Japan!
