[net.cycle] Fairings and European Riding Style

jack@rlgvax.UUCP (07/09/83)

My motorcycle, a Yamaha Seca 650, is a European riding style
machine. That means the rider leans forward, the pegs are
back a little, and the handlebars are flatter than the
typical American style, which is more of what we would call
a "chopper" style. Now, given the European riding style, is
there any point in buying a fairing? I suppose it can make
things easier in cold weather and rain, but on the other
hand, I expect it'd eliminate the desirable lifting of the
riders's weight off his (her) wrists by the wind. I'd like
to hear from someone who has put a fairing on a European
riding style bike.
