Au is a very wise man. I can ride all year round in a suit I had
tailor-made: Top & bottom of heaviest GoreTex, thinsulate inserts
make it toasty at -5F. No zippers, and very few seams, which were
supposed to be all sealed. Well, last downpour I found out that
one wasn't. You know where.

Hot tip on GoreTex: If you're even considering having a suit made
for you out of GoreTex (& it's good), do it now! The company has
had so many do-it-yourself garments sent in because of leaks, only
to find that the seams were at fault, not the material, that they're
taking it completely off the dry goods market. Only large garment-
making companies that can prove they use heat-sealing will be able to
buy it. (This from my tailor, who buys for her dry-goods co-op.)
