I never mentioned my latest wipe-out. I haven't had my bike long enough to
have one yet... :-)

>OK, everyone post to the net how they nearly died yesterday, and
>get it over with in one shot. THIS IS A NEWS GROUP, remember -
>headlines, exciting new products, reviews, radical corporation
>changes, experiences on trips, hints and tips, best tires these days,

Calling this entire mess 'news' was a mistake. Perhaps 'forum'
would have been a better name.

It seems to me that protective clothing is at least as interesting as
the latest gunk for your crankcase. Compare the number of street riders with
the number of racers. How many bikers wear a leather jacket vs. how many put
funny oil in their engine. How many even consider replacing tires until the
ones the bike came with are bald. How many people in Ontario care about nice
twisty roads in Oregon. How many people own two comparable pieces of equip-
ment recently enough to give a good comparison between them.
Let's face it... Besides the bikes themselves and laws, protective equipment
is one thing that most (not all, there are some fools...) bikers have in common.

On the other hand, I agree that we can do without the accident reports,
unless the submitter has a neat idea on how to avoid future accidents in
similar situations...

p.s. I see no reason why the rz500 shouldn't be street legal. Good throttle
response isn't a reason to take something off the road. Unless it's impossible
to avoid a wheelie.
