I have 1982 BMW R65 and I was interested in installing RS or RT fairing on it. Has anybody tried to do this? Also there was a company named "Motor-Sport Enterprises, Inc." which made a replica of RS fairing at half the price of the original. Where are they? Does anyone has a damaged RS/RT fairing willing to sell it at a low price so I can try to modify and fit it? --Thaddeus Konar 1154 NW Polk Corvallis, Oregon 97330 Phone: (503) 757-2000 x-3461 757-2478 eve. hp-pcd\!thaddeus

--Thaddeus Konar The R-65 is available in Europe with an RT fairing. Your BMW dealer can sell you a copy of the R-65 illustrated parts breakdown book, which shows all part numbers, etc., and you can order the complete fairing (in factory paint colors or primer), or you can order individual components. It is expen$ive! If you prefer the RS fairing (as I do), the primary difference between the two fairings is the upper section; the same mounting hardware is used. You may have to relocate the instrument cluster slightly, and the RS fairing may require short (RS type) handlebars. I understand, from talking to people who have them, that the Motor-Sport Enterprises imitation is of much lower quality than the BMW factory fairings, and the mounting system is rather flimsy. If you're not already a member, I'd suggest that you join BMW Motorcycle Owners of America. Their monthly magazine carries many ads for used parts -- you should be able to locate a used RS or RT fairing there, or they will publish "I want to buy a ..." ads at no charge for members.

- As long as we're on the subject, anybody has any experience with: - Pichler fairing for the R65(LS) - Krauser fairing ditto Price, availability, quality of paint, mounting hardware, etc. The Krauser I'm referrring to is the mass market version of the MKM 1000 fairing, which is a swoopy RS-style full fairing, not one of the older handlebar mount jobs. Thanx in advance .. Au
