I seem to be going to Los Angeles for a couple of weeks in early January. Can anyone tell me if its possible to rent street motorcycles? If so, some ballpark costs would be nice to hear. Any horror shows to warn me about riding in that fabled land? Weather, dressing, etc? Any particular good places to travel to (nights, weekends -- this is primarily a bizniz trip) scenic, famous, or whatever? Liability insurance requirements (minimums) versus "WISE" amounts of insurance. Thankyooo! - Ken Dykes Software Development Group, University of Waterloo Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. couldn't get through by mail, so here goes: > I seem to be going to Los Angeles for a couple of weeks in early January. > Can anyone tell me if its possible to rent street motorcycles? Motorcycle riding in LA is characterized by two things: - Great weather! - Horrendous traffic!!! I would un-recommend renting a bike for LA. The freeways (and most major side-streets) are crowded and the drivers are, well, bold. The upshot is that 1) you go very slow, and 2) it's *still* dangerous. The only advantage to motorcycles in LA traffic is that lane-splitting is legal in CA, so a lot of people use them to beat the traffic. If you have nerves of steel and lightening reflexes, you might want to consider this. Bob Stewart ihldt!stewart

As insane as I have been accused of being, I still consider White Line Fever totally assinine. The closest I'd come is moving up the line when traffic is stopped! Too many drivers think that a motorcycle in between lanes is fair game for a door! mikey at trsvax 55, it's not just a good idea, it S*CKS! Of course this is my own opinion!
