I neglected to make clear that I realized that I probably wouldnt enjoy using a bike for commuting around L.A. freeways, it would be used for those times I want to get OUT of L.A. or maybe not at all, but I sometimes get incredible URGES to ride a bike I am also told that in general, L.A. drivers are pretty good, I can tell you this, Ontario Canada drivers are very sloppy (mannerly, but sloppy) and I do have reasonably fortified nerves of steel. I am also too stupid to know better (riding in that last snow storm a few days ago created some pretty consistent adrenalin rushes...) - Ken Dykes Software Development Group, University of Waterloo Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. ==== < FOR THE LINE EATER > ==== Well, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only nut to ride through the winter on ice and snow. (I also met another cold rider yesterday, on a tall Honda Enduro machine.) Any others out there? Any tips? I find it very helpful to lean forwards, keeping most of my weight on the bars and pegs. I find I need more weight in front. Also, I lean out, keeping my BODY over the track, and letting the BIKE do the leaning. - C.Thomas Weinbaum von Waldenthal
