Well, still no response to my query about the GSXR750. Anybody ridden one yet? How about the FZ750? I expected to see one in my local shop by now and be contemplating my next venture into red ink. Speaking of new and sporty things, has anyone tried out the new Michellin Hi Sports yet? We had a small practice at Denver this week and lots of RZ's were sporting them. Everyone seemed to like them but then I didn't notice them going very fast so I don't know what to make of their evaluations. Any of you go fast types had a chance to really put them to the test yet? While were on this fast subject, I'll pass along a little info on RZ speed trickery. There were alot of RZ's at Denver and almost nobody is running modified production as they did last year. This year it seems to be all out go for it. Pipes were of three types, Toomey, Spec II and RSC. Most folks were running 34mm Mikuni carbs (a big jump from the stock 26ers!). I'm not sure about the state of porting and head milling but mine is and I expect most others were also. Steering dampners were on most bikes, and frankly I don't know how you could expect to go fast without one. The end result was that we made mince meat out of the four strokes!! Baby Ninja's were just another reference point on the track and GPZ's and Interceptors just made for interesting passing. I expect to see all classes up to (not including) F1 dominated by the little 350 crotch rockets this year. If you're looking for an inexpensive, fast and fun bike, you're going to have to look long and hard to do better than the RZ. George Tatge Fort Collins, CO ihnp4!hpfcla!tatge p.s. Today's Safety Tip: When riding your bike up the 2X4 into the back of your van, always jump off just before entering the plane that marks the back roofline on the van. It has been shown to be less painful to jump off than to be knocked off. Also, it is sometimes a good idea to find someone stupid enough to stand inside and keep the abandoned bike from exiting through the windshield.
