--------------------------------------------------------------------- So, I am comtemplating turning in my old, reliable R80RT and getting something a little more appropriate for the Alaskan wilderness I hope to be lost in in a few months. The obvious choice is the BMW R80G/S, the ultimate in dual-purpose bikes. I am looking for a used one, probably in the '80-82 range. Is there anyone with experience on one of these out there? Tips/accessories/ problems/experience greatly appreciated. If I can't come by one of these, anyone got a suggestion for *RELIABLE* dual-purpose good for many miles? I have heard good things about Yamaha's XT-500, but I'm afraid my old XL185 just won't cut it! So many bikes, so little time... Anyone wanna come along?
