[net.cycle] liquid exhaust

When I start up my Sabre in the morning to let it warm up, the
left exhaust pipe spits water after a minute or so, and this lasts
for a couple minutes. It's not gasoline, and it's not hot
(maybe lukewarm), and it smells only like exhaust. Other possibly
relevant factors: bike is on sidestand and hence leans to left,
left pipe has small perforation in baffle, and baffle isn't sealed
very well around end of pipe.

Another question on exhaust. This bike, as well as my old '75
CB500T, has very visible exhaust. You can see this grey smoky stuff
easily when bike is warming for a few minutes after just being started.
My '77 CB750K never did this. This is independent of the weather
so it's not just hot vapour condensing on a cold day.
Type of gas doesn't matter, all bikes were in tune, none burn oil
(not enough to require regular topping up). Suggestions?
