Can anyone suggest a way to get a Suzuki RG600 Gamma into the US
and be able to ride it on the street? I have noticed that Cycle News
has adds for Canadian dealers for non-US available motorcycles. Are
these for racing only?

Any help would be appreciated.

I take it you mean RG500, not 600. There is no problem getting
a bike and bringing it into the States, you can even get DOT
acceptance, the BIG problem is getting EPA certification. That
is why the two strokes can only be sold as race bikes.
If you decide to get one I would suggest John Swart at Brantford
Cycle Sales (519-743-3404). I bought a GSXR750 from him last
year. If you take the bike thru Customs there are certain items
that have to be removed to qualify it for a race bike (it will
also need number plates on it). If you want the bike shipped to
you these guys will set the bike up for Customs and arrange a
broker for you.
