*** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH a good joke *** One thing that helps when backing down hill is to start your lean before you start the turn. Assuming your going to back down a little ways and then turn to the right (facing uphill), you would start leaning to the right a little before turning the bars to the right. As the front wheel turns to the right (into the hill) the tendency of the bike is to roll about the front wheel in the direction of gravity (down hill of course). This makes it very hard to balance the bike since the hill is working you, i.e. you have more leverage with the inside (uphill) leg than the outside (downhill). You should put both feet down, if possible, and use the front brake. If your at all worried about it then by all means tell your passenger to take a hike! grego@tektronix my employer has no opinions, just options :-)
