I am going on a road trip at the beginning of August and I would like
some recomendations on soft saddle bags and tank bags. I would also
appreciate any information on the places I can get them from.
(The local shops don't have a good selection, and what they do have they
are asking too much for.)
I plan on using these bags quite a bit and so I am willing to invest
a substantial amount of money for a worthwhile product.
I also have a few other requirments:
1) They must be relatively easy to put on and take off.
2) They must not need a special rack or mount to be put on the
bike. (At least nothing big and bulky)
3) Endure a wide variety of road, weather, and riding conditions:
a) Twisty roads (Not altering their position in curves)
b) Snow, rain, mud, extreme temperature changes
(Map pouches tend to crack easily from hot to cold)
c) Handling wind speeds up to 130 mph. (Not that I drive that
fast :-) but to keep cords & straps from fraying in the wind)
4) Not interfere with driver's riding postion. (I have
long legs and I occasionally ride on the passenger pegs)
If I get enough responses I will summarize to the net, and after the
trip I will post a note on their performance.
