I just picked up a (new) 1985 Venture Royale (XVZ12DN) at my local
Yamaha dealer.
Any other Venture owners out there? Let me know. I'll post a list. If
there's enough interest maybe a mailing list will result.
Here's a few questions to start the ball rolling:
1. Does anybody belong to the Venture Touring Society. Is it worth it?
What've they done for you lately?
2. I've heard tell of a "stator" failure being common to Ventures.
What is a stator, how does it fail, what does it cost to get one and
have it put in? How many of you are carrying spare stators? Has Yamaha
acknowleged the problem and, if so, do "new" stators have the same
defect as original ones?
3. How hot does your Venture run? Mine gets about 80% of the green
zone in traffic. Is this common?
I'd like to hear from any and all Venture owners (and users) in the
hopes of sharing info and etc.
