Hello, I have an 85 interceptor and it seems to be dripping oil onto the exhaust. I was wondering if anyone else out there was having this same problem so I'd know if it was "under warranty" or not. Well, let me explain what it's doing so you can explain to me what it is. It leaks right below the shifter. Now it doesn't always drip down and smoke up. Only if I start "beating" on the bike. Such as quick starts and wheelies. Not that its intentional but these things do happen :-) Could it just be that the chain is going in so fast that it's forcing the chain oil to come off and drip down through. Or is there some kind of seal that needs replacing??? Is this a known problem with these bikes. Two of my friends also have these bikes and it leaks on those also. Not as bad but then they don't drive as much or do stunt riding! The reason I don't bring it right in to the shop is that if it is the chain, then it is not under warranty and i'll have to pay. Tune up's already cost enough. But I'll be doing them myself when I have have a full day to take the bike apart! Well, thanks for any help.
