As the originator of the whole novice camera argument, I have two general reactions. First, It has generated a lot of facts about a lot of cameras. That is good, it is what the original asker of the novice camera wanted. Second, I am appaled <spelling> by the general vehemence of the various pieces of information and opinion that are flying around. My original comments were a bit strong. They were that way to generate some kind of discussion, and that they have certainly done. Nonetheless, I could do without all of the personal comments about article authors that have been thrown around. We are all entitled to are opinions, and contrary to popular belief, mine have been based on the experience of some reliable people. To all of you happy NIKON owners, congratulations - you have treated your cameras well and gotten good use out of them. How many real novices will know how to do this? Let us attempt to bear in mind that this is a forum for discussion, NOT a forum for personal deprecation. Good shooting - though I would prefer that some of you would stick more to your cameras and less to your insults. ------------------A disgusted net.rec.photo reader Jon Shapiro (NOT ShOpiro - to avoid confusion) P.S.
