actually: re: shooting models boy, when i read the title, i thought the start of a nice discussion on technique of positioning nude persons (from talent agencies?) on model railroads. but seriously, portrait/human/animal photography i would find next to impossible, since i myself am totally uncomfortable in any "pose" i choose in front of a camera, how could i possible direct someone/thing else as to the position to assume? are there any general techniques/rules for reasonable person photography (so as to get good pictures, no necessarily award winning or entirely original) for instance: rule #1: ALWAYS place subject in front of tall, thin vertical object (such as tree or post) so as to make them appear to be sprouting said object. Life forms always look better with non-animate forms.
