I would like to buy a 35mm SLR camera that has a fully automatic 'program'
mode but also permits full manual operation. The local FOTOMAT store advised
a choice between a Canon AE-1 Program and a Minolta X-700. I would like to
hear from owners of these cameras ( or owners of any similar makes ) as to
problems they have encountered, availability of suitable lenses and flash
units and whether or not they would buy the camera again. Also are these
cameras so much better than ones such as the Ricoh XR7 to justify their
higher prices.
