[net.rec.photo] why the price difference

I am interested in buying a zoom-telephoto for my Canon A-1
and noticed something a little strange in the mail order
prices. Can anyone explain why the Canon 70-210/f4 macro
is $170.00 and the 80-200/f4 is $370.00. The huge price
difference doesn't make sense to me.

Also, I am interested in people comments on the Cokin filters
before I go out and spend(waste) my money.

I had the same question.  I wrote a letter to Canon and
they claimed the cheaper lense was made with
new manufacturing techniques and was as good as
the old lense.  I bought
the cheaper lense and I am happy.
