I am interested in starting super-8 home movie and have a serious problem finding necessary information. Seems like everybody is jumping into Video and super-8 is the thing of the past. In my opinion, the picture quality of video is far poorer than super-8 with current technology. Please correct me if I am wrong. Maybe I have not seen the state of the art video. I'd like to have some opinion on the following comparison between super-8 and video. super-8 video ======= ===== price moderate very expensive picture quality upto par not quite camera near compact very bulky convenience not quite yes With above comparison, my definite choice was super-8 especially considering performance/price. But obviously other people don't agree. I found out that the magazine called 'Super-8 filmmaking' has been discontinued and most camera stores in Ann Arbor don't carry movie cameras any more. Can anybody out there give me some explanation? If you agree with me, I'd like to have some advice on performance and/or reliability of available super-8 sound cameras. Please be specific on brand and model. Thank you in advance.
