I have a new, less than 2 months old, Nikon F3 camera. All of a sudden, last Sat, I picked it up and no matter where I set the F stop, it showed 1/80th of a second! Took it to a camera shop where they cleaned and checked the batteries, no problem, tried a different lens , same problem; then suggested taking it to the nearest Nikon fixit shop. Was going to do that when, on a spur of the moment, I adjusted the ASA , just diddled with it, and lo and behold it started working again and now seems ok. Anybody else have similar, "temporary dying" problems with the metering system????? Wonder if I should take it in anyway. Comments? Please mail, I will post if anything interesting comes up. Thanks.
