I didn't know anything about my 35mm manual camera. I checked out a book
from the library, put out by Kodak--I don't remember the title, but it
was something like Photography for Beginners, or How to Use your 35mm.
I found it easy to understand, and learned how to use the camera.

A good genmeral book on photography is the Photographer's Handbook.

Unfortunately, I can't remember the author's name, but most
bookstores will have it. It is a very comprehensive book which
describes just about everything a beginning to competent level
photographer would need to know.

Drawback, it's probably rather expensive.
