[net.rec.photo] Kodacolor 1000 quality

ggs@ulysses.UUCP (07/07/83)

A while back I saw a comment that the new Kodacolor 1000 print film
does not have enough 'range' to handle daylight and tungsten well.
If the prints that I just got back from Kodak are any indication,
this is not a problem at all. The color balance on some scenes
taken by stage lighting was excellent. If there are many of you who
have to get prints of the kids to keep the relatives happy, but can't
stand to use flash, this is the answer (of course the relatives don't
care whether I use flash or not, but one must draw the line somewhere).
I finally got birthday party pictures that were not: A) out of focus;
B) blurred; or C) underexposed. There is some visible grain on 3 x 5
prints of 35mm negatives, but not enough to make a fuss over.
If you are into 11 x 14 prints, you probably want to stick with
Kodachrome or its imitators, but this is definitely a class product.
