How about some positive feedback on the mail-order business? Surely, someone out there in net.land has had a good experience with a mail order house. It is good to know who not to deal with, but has anyone had a problem with something they ordered which was promptly and courteously taken care of by a good mail order dealer? I cringe at the local photo store prices. Jeff Porter inuxd!porter AT&T Consumer Products Indianapolis

I was reading in the paper the other day that the State of New York has begun to crack down on the mail order photo equipment places. Popular Photography has begun screening all of the advertising done in its classified section and for the last issue alone rejected 6 FULL PAGE ads (losing lots of $$$$$). It is nice to know that something is being done but I still like to buy from local dealers (if the price differential is not all that much) in case there is some problem with the equipment. By the way, Pop. Photo. is being sued by one of the rejected advertisers. More as I hear it. John Barrett AT&T Information Systems Lincroft, NJ

Del's Camera Exchange (he advertises in shutterbug ads--an especially good place to look for used equipment) has fairly good prices (not aolute bottom dollar, but it costs something to provide good service. He is, however, a specialist dealer, only Nikon and Hasselblad. He has a large inventory of both new and used equipment. He is also quite knowledgable of the product line, and will likely know what exotic item you need for a special job. Darrel J. Van Buer sdcrdcf!darrelj or VANBUER@USC-ECL.ARPA
