I am contemplating buying a 28-80mm and a 80-200mm zoom for my Cannon AE-1 camera. I would like to buy Cannon compatible lenses. Cannon's own lenses (FD lenses) seem to be bit expensive. However, Cannon cautions in its camera owner's manual that the metering system is based on the Full Aperture metering allowed by its FD lenses. Are there any difficulties in using non-FD lenses from non-Cannon sources? (I suppose one has to use Stopped down metering, but how messy it is to stop down to meter for every photograph you take?). Does any one manufacture FD compatible lenses that will allow you to meter through the lens at full aperture? Thanks. Sundar Iyengar sundar.Case@UDel-Relay decvax!cwruecmp!sundar
