[net.rec.photo] cheap 35mm color film

ark@rabbit.UUCP (11/07/83)

It has been suggested that Polaroid 35mm film costs about the same
as (say) Ektachrome. Not quite true.

At one large NY discount photo store, the Polaroid stuff costs
$12 for 36 exposures. You must also buy mounts: the Polaroid ones
cost $4.50 per hundred. Total cost: about $13.50/36 exposures.
This same store sells Kodachrome 64 for $6 for 36 exposures,
including Kodak processing. Thus the Polaroid film is slightly
more than twice as much money per frame.

Of course, if you need the results NOW, there's no comparison.
